Ranking Viral BookTok Books

I find a lot of my favorite reads on BookTok, but also find a lot of books that I wish I wouldn’t have even touched. I really try to avoid reading mainstream books because I often find my perspective being swayed by the popular opinion, so once I read these books, I haven’t read any other reviews in order to give my mostly unbiased opinion.

Evelyn Hugo: I know people are going to come for me for saying I didn’t like this book. It actually was a DNF for me. I just couldn’t get through Jenkins-Reid’s writing style. So I gave it a 2 out of 5.

The Silent Patient: Another one that people will judge for me, but oh well. This book was so entirely predictable. By the third act I could have stopped reading and known what was going to happen. I read this because everyone told me the plot twist was insane, but it wasn’t. I was expecting more, so 3 out of 5.

The Unhoneymooners: I really enjoy the writing duo that is Christina Lauren. They have some great romance books that deliver some laugh out loud moments. This book was super cute and fun. I love enemies-to-lovers and this was definitely one that I stayed up all night to finish. 4 out of 5 stars.

Verity: This is how you know I am being unbiased. I do not like Colleen Hoover, but THIS BOOK IS EVERYTHING. This book left me with such a book hangover. It was creepy and dark, but sexy also. The additional chapter that was later released really put me over the edge. So for me, it’s a 5 out of 5 without a doubt.
