How To Style a Black Dress for Winter

I love wearing dresses, but wearing a dress in winter can come with weird looks and cold legs. Here is a breakdown of how I style dresses in the winter to elevate them and keep me warm!

Start with a strong base. I typically recommend a long sleeve dress, whether it be bodycon or loose. Throw some black nylon tights underneath. I opt for nylon because they still have a sheerness to them that make them sexy and without overwhelming the entire outfit. Black boots of any sort are a great option. Whether it be combat, booties, etc., I usually opt for knee high though because they are a bit warmer.

Accessorizing your outfit is the key to elevating and styling your black dress in the winter otherwise it can be a boring outfit. I grabbed this fuzzy bucket hat off of Shein and I am obsessed with it!! It is so warm and is such a cool accessory for an outfit. I got so many compliments on it. I top off the look with an oversized, yet warm, leather jacket. I have a moto jacket that I wear a lot, but this an oversized leather blazer and I think it looks great for a classier event.

A few other ways you can dress this outfit up is by adding a white clutch or purse, layering some gold jewelry throughout or adding a chain belt that sits on top of your hips.
