Never thought this was gonna be my very first post on Lemon8. I just want to rant, I guess.

I got my license on May 24 through BBDC driving school.

I have gone for 3 refresher courses in Jul.

On 18 Aug, my friend and I made our own very first booking on GetGo and rented for 3 hours to practice. It was in Chua Chu Kang multistorey Capark, Honda Vezel Model. It was a lot of dust and the car was quite old. But everything was OK and returned the car safely.

Then, on 24 Aug, this time we wanted a newer model, so I booked Mazda 3. It was in Jurong East multistorey carpark. We drove to Jewel and back.

When I first got into the car, I noticed the seat was quite low for me and couldn't adjust, I am 155cm. I should have been more careful. When returning, I noticed our lot was taken, so we had to park in another lot, so we went up one more level. Then, when going up, I hit the wall. Then, the damage was seen in the photo. Left Headlight was gone, and the bumper was damaged as well. The scratches, however, were already there before the booking. I reported to the Getgo team, and my account was suspended.

Today, I received the notification from the Getgo team, as seen in the photo. It was a whopping 2.3k bill. I took Collision Damage Waiver, CDW, so for own damage, the maximum payable was 2.75k. This with only bumper damage is already 2.3k, almost maximum. And it's not even a road accident, and there is no need to replace the engine.

I'm still asking why there's the spray paint charge for the newly replaced parts. I know the prices are all marked up, but it was my fault, so I have to pay.

Lessons learnt :

- Always be alert and more careful since carelessness leads to hefty amount and probably injury and even death

- Luckily, this was not a road accident, and I am very grateful for that

People on community, any tips and tricks to avoid getgo horror? I saw on forum, people say, just rent additional hours and get the car to the workshop yourself. And also please recommend me insurance or workshop. And driving tips for new drivers?

Thanks a lot for reading my rant.
