LESSONS i’ve LEARNED in 2023

with 2024 here, i’ve learned a lot in 2023 that i think is really important to remember.

💌 leave things on a high; i specifically learned this in dolphin training, but i realised this can be brought into every day life as well. if you and your animal are having a training session, and are doing good and both are happy, it’s a good place to end your session. likewise, if something’s going good and you feel okay, maybe it’s a good time to stop and come back later. personally, i’ve applied this to writing lately. if i’m writing something and i’m liking it a lot, i decide to stop and continue later, leaving me at a point i’ll be excited to come back to.

💌 comparison can kill your happiness; this year was definitely a year of comparing myself to others. relationship wise and physically wise. this new year, i will cherish the relationship i have and recognize it as the special blessing it is. i will also definitely try to embrace my insecurities and learn to love them.

💌 some things just aren’t worth it; i’ve let so many little things get into my mind and ruin a good moment. i worry about things i don’t have to, and yet, i still do. recently my brother gave me the simple advice, “some things just aren’t worth it.”

💌 and some things are; life is so beautiful with such blessings and it’s so important to realise what we have. if you got a good thing going, the little stuff shouldn’t matter. and i know i shouldn’t worry, and that i don’t have to, but at times it’s just so hard

so, in reflection, i know there is a lot i have to work on and i will (try) to apply these four main things in my every day life, whether it be big or small.
