SOUTH DAKOTA TODDLER FRIENDLY TRIP 🦋

🌞 Day 1: Wall Drug + Badlands National Park. Wall Drug Store is a “tourist trap,” but fun to walk around! We spent the entire day in Badlands National Park. A few toddler friendly hikes and we had a picnic for lunch! We then drove onto the Mount Rushmore KOA at Palmer Gulch Resort . We based out of there until we left!

🌞 Day 2: Mount Rushmore National Memorial + Crazy Horse Memorial . They are both stroller friendly. We weren’t at either for incredibly long so we chose to go over to Hill City for a bit. If you’re looking for a good place for coffee during your visit, go to Caboose Coffee Company. They’re a family owned shop. Absolutely delicious!

🌞 Day 3: Custer State Park ! This took the entire day. You pay an entrance fee and you have access to the park for 7 days! We went to the visitors center and were met with incredibly knowledgeable staff and volunteers. We drove needles highway, watched herds of bison, did a few hikes throughout, and ended our day at Sylvan Lake which my toddler loved! We once again had a picnic and enjoyed our day entirely.

🌞 Day 4: We left this day completely open! We decided to drive two hours to Devils Tower/Bear Lodge in Wyoming for the day. We then came back through Spearfish, SD, and enjoyed the drive there too! Very beautiful scenery throughout the entire trip! If you want to go to Devils Tower/Bear Lodge, I highly suggest going early in the day as there is limited parking so you may be waiting a while.

⭐️If you, or whoever you are traveling with is ACTIVE DUTY MILITARY, Mount Rushmore is free parking and Crazy Horse Memorial is free entrance

⭐️If you are a VETERAN, you can get a free coffee and donut at Wall Drug

⭐️APPLICABLE TO AD, VETS, RETIREES, AND GOLD STAR FAMILIES - As long as you have your FREE National Parks Pass, your entrance to ALL National Parks are free
