while I think this is a common belief among my followers and in my corner of bookstagram, I think generally, romance can be perceived as silly or girly or surface-level - and that’s the complete opposite of my experience delving into this genre. I ADORE romance and the way it celebrates love in all forms and advocates for healthy love and invokes empathy and emotions. 🥹 even if it is silly and girly and surface-level, so what?
