BOOK REVIEW: Things We Hide From The Light

about the book:

“Things We Hide From The Light” is the second book in the Knockemout series which is an interconnected stand-alone series. It focuses on Nash and Lina. Nash is the towns sheriff that recovering from an injury that left him mentally and physically wounded. Lina is thrill seeker that just popped into town to see her old buddy, Knox, and just so happens to be Nash’s new next door neighbor.

my review:

i absolutely loved this book! Nash’s character development was so heartwarming to read about. at the start of the book, he is a shell of what he once was and then by the end, we see him better than ever. it just warms my heart so much!! i also really loved Lina like we love a strong female main character 🤩 not to mention, all the cameos of Knox, Naomi, and Waylay were the best!! it was so much fun to read about them planning their wedding. i’m not gonna cry i did cry when i read the epilogue 🤭

one thing i also really appreciated about this book was how Lucy Score did not shy away from the topic of police brutality and how some police officers do not protect and serve their community but instead misuse their authority.

i highly recommend reading this book/series! someone commented on one of my posts that 600 pages for a romcom is way too long and i’m telling you right now this book is way more than a romcom. there’s a huge subplot of mystery/crime that we start to see unfold at the end of the first book and then carries into this book. it was honestly one of my favorite parts of the book! i rated this book a 4⭐️ out of five! i seriously cannot wait for Lucian and Sloane’s book, i already knowww that’s going to be a five star for me 😂💖
