If Matcha and Houjicha are your flavours…

Tsujiri's cakes were our choice of desserts this weekend and we ordered an array of flavours including the Pistachio Basque Cheesecake, Houjicha Basque Cheesecake, Yuzu Matcha Crepe Cake, Black Sesame Crepe Cake and Matcha Crepe Cake. Also featuring homemade Pandan Chiffon Cake (that money cannot buy 🤭)

Our favourite of the selection was the Houjicha Basque Cheesecake, which married the rich flavours of Houjicha and Cheese really well and is an option that we'd order again. In parallel, the Pistachio Basque cheesecake did not stand out as much with the hints of pistachio very subtle and challenging to taste between bites.

Next up were the crepe cakes that were creamy and smooth across all flavours. Yuzu Matcha added a refreshing twist amongst our selection, Matcha being the 'you can't go wrong with' option and Black Sesame providing the nutty and almost-savoury flavours.

Overall, Tsujiri does do traditional Japanese flavours well and on a personal note, we'd probably go back again for those Houjicha flavours.
