Truth of being a tattoo artist

Being a tattoo artist was my dream job. So having somebody finally take me in and let me do my dream job was everything to me. Literally everything. I was tattooing from home for years and then moved states. So starting fresh with knowing almost nobody and at a shop was super difficult. Trying to get appointments was almost impossible since I don’t know anybody in the area. Worst part was the few people I knew were trying to low ball me on prices. Like I would tell them shop minimum is $50, and still be told they want a large tattoo for $30. Like thanks I have to give $25 to my boss. I’m drained from trying so hard to get people to show up. And the people who tell me they want to come in ghost me. I feel like I wasted so much money to get to this point for it to all be a waste of time. I reached the point of just being depressed and broke now. A part of me regrets putting so much hope into this being a career.
