Be careful when making soup

I was making soup yesterday and while my soup was boiling the lid vacuum sealed itself to the pot and the soup exploded everywhere and even on me and gave me first and second degree burns on and under my feet and on my leg. It all happened so fast but I am not allowed to move only to go to bed and the bathroom. I have to get a sponge bath so make sure you be careful when making soup and if it starts to boil when the lid is stuck turn off the heat and leave the room immediately!
