Our Most Used Baby Toys

When I was pregnant with my first, my husband and I were blessed by our amazing friends and family with gifted toys for our daughter. Most of them she couldn’t use until she was about four months due to her not having the skills to hold toys. Up to that point in her life, I would actually play with the toys “for her” so that she could see how to interact with them, while also getting an audible stimulation from the bells, rattles, and crinkles.

Toys that have bright, contrasting colors with big bold designs are perfect for stimulating visual attention for babies. The high contrast board is one of my top suggested baby toys for new mothers. Babies are able to see the black and white images really well, and it is a great item to use when doing tummy time because it draws their head to look up when laid on their belly.

Textures rattles and crinkle books are another favorite of ours! Now that Payton is four months, she is starting to grab and hold items often. The textured rattle has rubber shapes that jut out from the sphere which are perfect for little fingers to grab on to.

Crinkle books are probably our most favorite baby toy because of how adorable they are. We were gifted many crinkle books, but whenever I went to target I found a new one to bring home as well 😅 The themes are so cute, the crinkle is audibly stimulating to babies, and the stories help promote a bond with your baby when reading to them.
