how I increased my income within a week💛

graduating college and realizing how expensive living in Boston.. was a nightmare.

I was cornered on how to increase my income while also working in a lab full time/ getting my masters degree and keeping some level of sanity.

I commuted to undergrad to maintain a 4 year full time nanny position and have been babysitting since I was 15 years old. I had babysitting as my main source of income up until I needed to get a career focused job.

I also moved out of my hometown and didn’t know how to organically find families to start babysitting for.

One day I was insanely fed up with always getting the same pay check and added myself to 5 babysitting/ nannying Facebook groups near me.

By noon and I had 40+ families dming me with their nanny inquiries and asking for a zoom meeting or a phone call.

I took about 20 phone calls/ 10 zooms and met with a handful of families within that first week. By the weekend I narrowed my search down to 3 families.

I made it incredibly blunt to set my rate based on my experience, my hourly expectations and my role as the nanny.

Families offer benefits, accommodations, etc. based on how many hours you’re working.

I was aiming to work 15 hours per week for about $500 venomed to me weekly.

After a little trial and error within 3 weeks of posting my blurb I had a family I adore and dozens of different contacts for date night and spontaneous babysitting jobs around where I live.

I now nanny 10-15 hours a week for the sweetest little family after my regular job and do date night babysitting whenever I feel like I need extra cash.
