If you’re going to Bali soon and want to bring a piece of it home, I’d recommend this gorgeous little pottery place I chanced upon in Canggu.
📍The Other Project
is a slow-made pottery shop, filled with all kinds of minimalist pieces for your home or room (cups, tea pots, plates, vases and more). Each piece is locally made in Bali.
Pricing: Based on what I saw, the prices of the cups could range around S$15-20, while plates could go up to S$40. I’d say the pricing is definitely cheaper than in Singapore for such handmade pottery pieces.
Tips: If you’re travelling round in Bali or don’t have luggage space, you could arrange with the owners to pick up your purchases at a later date! (My friend picked out 4 plates for her home and will be flying back to Bali to pick it up at the end of the year.)
Thoughts: Overall, this was definitely one of the prettiest shops I visited in Bali in terms of interior decor (and trust me, on a girls’ trip, we visited a lot of shops 🥹). My friends & I had a lovely conversation with the owners about their pottery. Each batch they make is one of a kind, where they may not produce similar pieces again (so you know you’re bringing back something that is truly yours).
