Autie Sensory Tools I Love

I was diagnosed Autistic last year at 31, and now I’m so much more aware of my sensory needs. It’s been a blessing and a burden, learning how to care for myself with this new info. Here are some tools I’ve found that help my little neurodivergent brain:

💘 AirPods - I didn’t get the hype until I got these as a birthday gift! The Noise Cancellation is amazing and helps to block out all the little annoying sounds while I stim to music.

💘 Pop Its - Do not underestimate the magic of a fidget toy. I have a cute tiny heart one on my work lanyard.

💘 Dark sunglasses - Sometimes the light is just toooo bright.

💘 Loop earplugs - When I want something to just filter or block noise that’s less obvious than my AirPods, I grab these.

💘 Emotional Support Water Bottle - lol but true. I forget to drink enough, so having a sticker-covered water bottle at all times is important.

💘 Snacks - Same with water, I always have a snack or two on me for those times I hyperfocus and forget to eat.
