Guide: Apps you will need in KOREA 👍🏻

1. Naver

This is the best app to navigate around Korea. Treat this as Google map but in Korea version. Also, you get to find more hidden gems in Korea compared to finding it on normal google map. You will get to search nearby restaurant/cafe/coffee/carparks of where you are. It’s easy to see the rating for the place you are looking at so you will know whether to visit the place. When you click the place you want to go, they will show you how to go by taxi, train or bus. Also, you will know how much does it cost if you want to take cab to the specific place.

2. YouTrip

It’s a hassle to carry so much cash around especially in Korea. You will spend big sum of money in many local brands such as gentle monster, mischief, Mardi and Tamburins. Basically, Korea is a shopping heaven so it’s good to have a ‘debit card’ that have a good exchange rate. YouTrip is like a card where you can top up money easily in the app and also use the physical card in shops. But do take note to take enough money for food, travel and street shopping as they don’t accept card yet.

3. Google Translate

A lot of local restaurant or shops only have in Korean language and also most of them don’t speak English. Hence, Google translate is super useful where you can scan or load photos for it to translate the whole text into English within seconds.

These three apps come in super handy when I’m in Korea where I will use it everyday. It also helps me to find new local things that I can’t find in normal Google maps.
