MUST HAVE apps for your next trip to South Korea 🇰🇷

Heading to South Korea soon? Here are some tips and apps that I would recommend you to download! It’ll make your life a lot easier and your trip more enjoyable 🌍🛫

1. Mangoplate 🥘🍜

This app is a food recommendation/review platform. It comes super handy when you have no plans for lunch/dinner. Use this app to find the best food around you by turning on your location.

You can even filter the selections by category, cuisine, price per person and available parking.

2. Naver Maps 📍🗺️

Don’t rely on google/apple maps when you’re in South Korea. Just download Naver Maps, as it works like a charm.

You can even pre-save some of the spots in your itinerary to easily plan your next destination. For example, I used it to save my home, university and favourite food.

The best part is that it even gives you a very accurate ETA of your bus!

3. Papago 🙊📑

The best translator app for Korea! Google translate does not work that well and Papago gives you very accurate translations to get you speaking like a local.

The camera function also works perfectly and comes in handy especially so when you’re ordering food. Just snap a picture and there you have it!

Other useful apps: 👩‍💻

🚗 Kakao T: The top ride hailing app. But I do think you need a Korean ID to book a ride.

🚙 Tada: Alternatively, use this to book your ride. I got my rides very quickly and the drivers were always so efficient.

🚆 Kakao Metro: View the very complicated Korean metro from your phone. Don’t miss a stop with this.

🇰🇷 Duolingo: If you’re learning the Korean language, this is a fun and engaging way to practice!
