Toddler meal ideas: pizza with hidden veggies

Have you ever made your own pizza with your toddlers? It’s one of our favorite meals to do together, mostly because they will actually eat it! But after a while, the same old pizza can become monotonous so we like to change it up by making mini pizzas in fun shapes!

Start with your favorite dough- either homemade or store bought, whatever tickles your fancy. Cut the dough with cookie cutters into whatever shape you want. Pro tip: you will likely need a sharp knife to get the dough in the shape of the cookie cutter as the cookie cutters aren’t normally that sharp.

Add your fav pizza sauce OR, and this is where we get sneaky, make your own. If you make your own you can add in veggie purées and all of a sudden pizza night becomes a lot more nutritious. Things we’ve added in- carrots, bell peppers, squash and zucchini (not all at once- just pick one or two so as to keep the flavor disguised). Need a sauce recipe? Then top with your favorite toppings like pepperoni and cheese and bake to your preferred crispiness!
