100 Years of Makeup - 1920s

This was a personal project I’ve been working on and I’m excited to share my 100 years of makeup looks! The first decade is 1920s.

For this decade, I took inspiration from Clara Bow, a star of the 1920s. First things first, I had to block out my brows and apply my foundation - I went a bit lighter than I normally do.

For brows, brows back then were drawn on dark in a down-turned shape. The eyeshadow was also dark (I did a charcoal black), and was downturned as well - to achieve this, I applied eyeshadow to my crease and swept upwards as I was applying across the crease towards my nose. No glitter - that wasn’t really a thing. I also did a bit of white liner across the lower lash line.

For lips, it’s common to think that the 1920s lips were round and small - while they were smaller, the Cupid’s bow was actually more pointed! I used a red shade and didn’t apply all the way to the outer corners.

I added a bit of blush directly in the center of my cheeks in a round motion - the blush was a pink undertone!

Hair was finger waves with accessories!
