CHEAPEST HDB MAIN GATE!

I'm just about to complete my reno for my 4 room resale flat so I thought I should share my journey and good deals as a first time home owner trying to navigate this scary & expensive reno world 😅

At first, my husband and I wanted to change the door and gate completely which would have cost us upwards of ~$2K. With digital door locks (Solity) it would have been about $3.5K. This is because our door & gate is bigger at 4 x 7ft and the door needs to be fire rated too. UGH 🤦🏻‍♀️

In the end, we decided to just keep the existing door since all it needed was actually a fresh coat of paint and change only the main gate.

I searched high and low for the best priced gates but everywhere quoted at least $800+ for just the gate!!!

In the end, I found a cheap and good option! He actually has his own metal gate fabrication factory! And it truly reflects in the price 🤭

Our gate was $499 (4 x 7ft) and an additional $30 for the bottom panel (NETT, no GST charged).

If you plan to install a digital door lock, you can opt for the panel for the lock at NO EXTRA COST! (note that standard lock set will not be installed) If you want both, top up $30.

I loved that he provided the option of installing the panel at no extra cost, because we wouldn't be needing the lock set anyways. Other places actually charge extra if you need the panel to be installed 🤕

The lead time for the gate was about a week! And as we were still in the midst of reno, he was able to match our timeline.

On the day of installation, it was quick and easy! Took about 15 minutes to install.

FINALLY SAID GOODBYE TO OUR FISH GATE 🐟🐟🐟
