Last year I was working an extremely stressful and strenuous job. I was breaking a sweat every day. According to my Apple Watch I was walking 7 miles a day and burning close to 1,000 calories a day. I wasn’t losing weight but it was stagnant for years which made me feel invincible.
Once I quit my job, my weight shot up and I’ve gained 20lbs in the past year. I knew my weight had changed but I didn’t know how much until the other day I went to the doctor and stepped on the scale. My heart broke and I was so disappointed in myself.
My doctor asked me to chill on the carbs. I don’t eat much meat and don’t always have the time/energy to cook. But I know I have to make the change. She showed me a chart which said according to my weight and height ratio I’m borderline obese. I used to be within an ok range.
The photo shown is from last year when I was still at that job so I have gained 20lbs since the photo was taken.
I’m making this post to hold myself accountable to start doing better. I need to understand I’m not invincible and this is real life before I really let things get out of control.
For now I am tracking my meals and working on less carbs/ sugar, and more protein.
Please feel free to comment any snacks and recipes. I don’t eat any red meat and haven’t for the majority of my life.
