😕Is it Worth the Hype?🌚

Went to get Shio Pans from Shio and Sato Pop-up till 15 october at Takashimaya Shopping Centre Food Village Takashimaya after seeing an instagram post.

Before going into my experience, just want to say, TLDR: they are definitely overwhelmed by the crowd, truffle shio pan was crisp base and nicely seasoned and flavored. Green chilli Onion delivered the spicy punch but without the topping can’t really get the full taste to make it worth $4+. Overall, hope next time they will manage better but for this pop-up i don’t think it’s worth the queue of 2 hours hahaha, maybe if ~ 5-10 ppl in front sure provided i get the box of 6 ($20) on the spot😆

My Experience:

Went at bout 10am+ and already sold out even though they should open at 10am??? bit confused but ok, got a priority for 12pm batch.

the queue went crazy at 12pm! was 2nd in line but only could choose between 3 options even though i saw the day before that they did have box of 6 ( original, truffle and kombu) which is what i wanted at $20! Cheaper than per pc going at $4.20 and $4.80 for the special ones.

As they are overwhelmed there is no topping as well 😅 Overrall, the texture and shape were quite inconsistent as well. Even though yes, benefit of doubt due to the strong reception but felt that since the chef has prior experience should have been managed better (heard from a friend that same problem on from her purchase on thursday)

Also felt bit disappointed by the green chilli onion which supposed to have topping, without it just don’t deliver the intention yet still have to pay $4+ for it. just not sure if the item should still be sold if not in its complete form hmm. food for thought 💭
