no gatekeep: affordable halal yakiniku in town

So stoked to chance upon this gem while walking around Funan. Love yakiniku, and we need a decent yakiniku place in town… that’s Halal-certified 🥳

This place is similar to the other yakiniku places in terms of menu, prices and look.

Prices are really affordable, starting from $9.90 for a set of 100g of karubi yakiniku which comes with rice, kimchi, and seaweed soup. I go for the 200g which is more filling for $13.90. Meat quality is decent too. Drinks are not included in the set - I got iced houjicha for $2.90.

They charge gst + service charge here too, so total damage for 2 sets of 200g karubi + houjicha + additional lettuce came up to about $43.

The grill system sucks up all the exhaust and smoke, meaning your clothes and hair will not smell. The Karubis are fatty and yums but also means the fatty oils can melt onto your grill and create a huge fire lol quite fun and exciting.

They have a special here which is the sambal karubi! I didn’t try it but you can give it go if you’re into that spicy lifestyle.

You get two sauces with your order, a spicy one and a garlic soy sauce. The only con here is that there’s no extra sauce bottles and condiments like salt and pepper and cili padis on your table.

They have a few outlets around Singapore so can visit the nearest ones near you!
