So I had the pleasure of running my first 5K back at the end of September. Now I am not athletic, nor have I ever ran more than five seconds a day in my life. When I was invited, I took this as an opportunity to get back into working out and getting fit. What I didn’t realize how much anxiety I ended up getting from even committing to something like that since I’ve never done it before.

What ended up happening is that? I didn’t train that one day. I didn’t run a track or a treadmill before this race. I didn’t change any eating habits. My eating habits actually got worse.

The day before the race, I bought me a new pair of running shoes to get me in the mood. The day of the race I prayed and tell God that I needed him to run this race for me because he and I both knew that I was not conditioned to run a 5K.

So for the whole 3.16 miles I prayed! I prayed that God did not let my legs or lungs give out. I pray that when I felt at my weakest, I needed him to grab my legs and run for me. I prayed with him that I actually finished the race no matter how long it took me.

Welp, 42 minutes later I crossed that finish line! It was the greatest feeling of accomplishment ever!
