My search for a natural deodorant ✨

I have been on a search for a natural deodorant that whitens and helps with BO for the longest time. I have tried many types and would like to share my thoughts on them! I gave minimally 3 months (some longer 😆) per product before switching to something else. If you tried something I’ve not before and loved it, please share w me!!!

1. Cupcake plus (rating: ❤️) ~$12

This is a cream deo and it was the first I tried ever when I started my search! It promises to whiten, smoothen, tighten pores and acts as an anti oxidant. But honestly, it wasn’t for me. It doesn’t help w any smell nor does it whiten my underarms. It does however tighten the area and made it smooth. It feels like putting on moisturiser, yknw?? It doesn’t have any frangrance too but if it’s not helping w bad smell, it’s a problem!!

2. Salt of the Earth (rating: ❤️) ~$16

Haha honestly this is a deo for kids, I was just trying it out because the reviews are so good :’) Anyway it has a sweet strawberry scent - smells super yummy!! But unfortunately this too doesn’t help with masking any smell. You’ll start smelling of sweat and strawberries - not a good combi ok trust me. And it does have a slightly sticky finish which I don’t appreciate.

3. Sukin (rating: ❤️❤️) ~$15

This is an Aussie brand and I tried two different scent~ Cotton smells like all other cotton perfume smell, and the original is kind of citrusy. Scent wise, I prefer the cotton one because overtime the original makes me smell yucky. Similar to the salt of earth in strawberry, not a good combi ok sweat + fruit. But other than that, I feel like it doesn’t stay on long. So I start being stinky again after a few hours. I ended up using this deo for when i’m at home.

4. Mama’s choice (rating: ❤️) ~$14

This is a dry serum deo for pregnant and breastfeeding mummies - neither is me but i’ve become desperate at this point HAHAHA Unfortunately it doesn’t work for me at all. It’s also a small tube so it finish pretty quickly so considered pricey cause I have to keep buying :’)

5. Joi (rating: ❤️❤️❤️) ~$20

Love hate relationship for this one!!!! I love it soooo much that I tried it for an entire year, kept replenishing and even tried different scents. My fav was eucalyptus and mint, the rest don’t work well for me. It kept me fresh and smelling good the whole day even if i went for exercise! The only reason I stopped using this and decided to move on to another was because I was sick and tired of having white cast on my underarms and staining my clothes… This product is slow in drying/ absorption and when it dries, it leaves a white cast regardless how thin the layer :(

6. Mood (rating: ❤️❤️❤️) ~$30

Decided to splurge a bit cause I saw good reviews and I liked the idea that it’s fully compostable! It does help with smell but haiya it’s so soft and melty.. The texture is like rubbing flour and water onto the skin, got residue type. Then maybe cause it’s so hot and humid, the product started melting and sticking to the cap… After some time I couldn’t close the product properly… I was so sad cause it made me smell good, sucha waste 🥲

7. You and I (rating: ❤️❤️) ~$5

I complained to my colleague and his wife, then they bought me this haha 😆 She used this last time and it worked really well for her. It was my first time hearing about crystal deodorant and it felt weird - like rubbing a smooth pebble onto my pits hahahaha. At that time, I don’t even know if I’m using it right and if it’s working. This product had a slight scent and mayb cause my body was adjusting to using a crystal deodorant, I felt like this didn’t work too well. Which made me try another brand below..

8. Arorah (rating: ❤️❤️❤️❤️) ~$10

So I tried a diff brand of crystal deo and FELL IN LOVEEEEE. It worked like magic, it keeps my pit dry allllllll day. This was my holy grail ☺️ The only reason why I changed to a different deo was 2 reasons… 1. I dropped it once, it broke.. and I couldn’t use it cause all the top part was sharp so I would really be cutting myself if I attempted to use. 2. For my new one, after using this for some time, the water that I didn’t dry properly made the bottom loose or disintegrate or something, that over time the stick came out from the holder :’)

9. Batu Tawas (rating: ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️) ~$5

Decided to search for a different type of deo & found this mineral stone deo. It feels like a bar of soap, so means it’s slippery. The first few times I bought, it kept slipping out of my hands that it broke into smaller pieces that I had to use those small pieces or buy a new one. But I found a hack fr this haha, I realised I didn’t have to wet the entire stone, just the tip will suffice! It works like magic too, like the crystal deo!! So I found myself sticking to this one, because even if it breaks.. It’s only ~$5 to get a replacement 😆
