Thrifting in Japan: Ohi Racecourse Fleamarket

Back with another Japan 🎌 throwback! This time, I travelled to Shinagawa to Ohi Racecourse, also known to host one of the largest Tokyo-area flea market!

📍 Location: Oi Racecourse (2 Chome-1-2 Katsushima, Shinagawa City, Tokyo 120-0012, Japan)

💰 Entry Fee: Free~

A 2 story parking lot at the racecourse, this flea market was a sight for sore eyes! Ohi racecourse fleamarket opens up each weekend, housing 600 vendors 🚘 from all around the Tokyo region.

I started by exploring the first level and then made my way up to the second story. I was quite spoilt for choices from the categories of items the flea market offered:

👘 Fashion (vintage clothes to accessories - managed to snag 2 pairs of dickies pants for ~$15/pair

🖥 Electronics / Mechanical gears/ Hardware appliances

🧸 Toys (got some figurines back for my art teacher)

🪑 Furniture

🖼 Art (from paintings to prints and even pottery!)

Its was quite cute as most of the vendors were selling their items out of their cars or set up a small booth surrounding their vehicles 🚘🚍

The highlight of the day was after walking around for about 2 hours, I spotted food trucks at the open air portion of the lot. I ended up getting a chicken leg 🍗 with some mini baked potatoes 🥔 + a bottle of cold tea 🍹

Overall Ohi race course is definitely a new experience I would 100% recommend when visiting Japan ✨😌
