I was trying to search for a dinner place with nice ambience to celebrate my birthday with Nikki!

So we decided to give Hathaway a try!

Tuck in a quiet corner of the Dempsey Hill, Hathaway serves modern Asian cuisine and what caught my attention is their Peranakan inspired dishes.

We ordered:

The Nyonya duck soup with salted veggies. It is thicker than normal Item Tim outside so I guess it’s good to be served as starter.

🐙🦐Octopus Bakar & Sambal Udang ($42), 5/5

The highlight of the meal today! Inspired by the convivial barbecue by the beaches of Bali, the tiger prawns and tender octopus are marinated by sambal and kecap manis. The smokiness, spiciness and subtle sweetness is really SHIOK!

🥩Milk-fed Bone in Veal Ribeye ($48), 4/5

The ribeye in medium rare is great! The interesting part will be the potato pavé at the side! It is crispy outside but soft inside!

🍨Seri Muka ($16), 5/5

Highly recommend this dessert if u come to Hathaway! My hub says he will come here just for this Kueh Salat!

🍸Iced Blue Pea Yuan Yang ($9), 4/5

Another interesting drink using the blue pea flowers, which is commonly used in Peranakan cuisine.

Overall, it is an intimate place with nice ambience for dating although it is slightly pricey in my opinion. Would suggest u guys to go for a special occasion!
