I got a Chinchilla But I'm pretty sure he hates me

I got a Chinchilla about 2 months ago and he's super cute but gosh they're hard work, just to get them comfortable with you. He still Snickers at us sometimes if we try to touch him. Which sucks. I've tried to go slow when messing around in his cage. It has to be cleaned like once a day. They poop so much. We've tried putting him in a small space where he can be out of his cage with us. We've tried using treats as a "hey I'm good" instead of touching him when we open the cage and he loves the treats but still not a big fan of being touched. I wanna be able to hold him someday but I'm starting to think maybe i never will get too. Does anyone know more tips and tricks to get Chinchillas comfortable with being touched and how to get to the point of being held? #petlover #chinchilla #rodents #storytime #lemon8contest
