staying unemployed for now 😎

Can we accept that being unemployed is ok? 😕 It’s not that I don’t want to work or cannot stay long at a company, but if the company does not feel right, why can’t I quit?

A lot people have the mindset that you should at least stay for 1 year in a company before switching (I did too), however, I don’t think that’s necessary. If from the start, you see red flags 🚩 and you’re not happy in the company, then you should leave.

I left my full-time job after 6 months and I have decided to stay unemployed for now. I am not actively looking for another full-time job due to certain reasons.

✨ I’m starting a business with a friend, we are in the midst of it - more time is needed for this and by having a full-time job, i won’t be able to put in 100% effort into my business which i prioritise more.

✨ I cannot fully commit to a 9-5 (let’s be real it’s more of like 9-6 or even ending after 6) job as i like to have the freedom of time to do things i want at my own schedule LOL.

✨ Don’t really like to be micro-managed by people, especially in a company context. I did marketing for my previous company and although my manager didn’t really micro-manage me, i felt like i wasn’t given the freedom to do what i want & was constantly told it’s not that good enough?

Anyway, there are many more reasons that are personal which I don’t feel comfortable sharing LOL. But these are the main reasons why I’m staying unemployed now and if you are unemployed too, don’t be too upset! As long as you’re not leeching off others to survive, then there’s no need to feel bad or think that being unemployed is not ok.
