Honestly speaking, shopping in Taipei was mid🙂‍↕️. But fret not, I've visited all the popular shopping spots & also stumbled into new found shopping haven's to curate the ultimate Taipei shopping guide ✨.

Here are my 2 cents of what were hit's & what were misses:

1) Clothes & Shoes 🛍️

- ATT 4 FUN Xinyi Store LOVE 😍 the stores here, all were trendy and good quality. Slightly pricier than those at the night markets but cheaper than popular blogshop brands in SG. The night time vibes here were great too, a lot of bars and young people ~

- Zhongshan District & chifeng street: More unique and trendy clothes (reminiscent of vietnam based shops, korean y2k fashion), common taiwan clothing shops (as listed in pic above) and curated thrift stores.

- Ximending Walking District : Also lots of small boutiques + common taiwan clothing shops. Many repetitive styles, more affordable options but the quality of the clothes reflect the price.

- Wufenpu Shopping District : Bugis street on steroids. Expect to see lots of boxes of clothes and so many shops you may not know which one to start at, it can be pretty overwhelming so come mentally prepared 😆. Unfortunately I did not find anything I fancied.

2) Local crafts & trinkets

- So many adorable things but of course there were some overlaps here and there.

- Yongkang District stood out to me as they sold fragrances & essential oils as well. There was a taiwanese version of aesop (located near an actual aesop 🤣) and a lot of the small shops sold lovely fragranced soaps and perfumes/scents aside from the usual souvenirs.

- The Red House was also more distinct for its local art (newer artists/ not as much repeats as compared to the rest). Especially on the second floor - super cute stuff like what you'd see at maker's market in SG.

3) Souvenirs (food edition)

- I chanced upon Ruyi Sunny Cake Taipei Kaifeng Store as it was located near my airbnb and the reviews were good. They serve you tea and allow you to try anything in store before you decide to buy. The pastries themselves were all really well made too. Great service and food. They have amazing 太阳饼s 🤤

- I also bought from 聖瑪莉sunmerry西門2店(一口酥、鳳梨酥、牛軋餅專賣店) for the same few reasons and walked away with many boxes of their scallion nougat biscuits.

- The rest were places I wanted to buy from / famous shops that I did not have the time to visit 😢

4) Cosmetics

- Poya beauty and Cosmed are your typical cosmetic shops, carrying mostly similar brands to that back in SG. They have many locations city wide.

- Ximending is also full of small shops that sell cosmetics too, at slightly cheaper prices but the same few brands.

5) Blind boxes

- JINART 台北西門店 had various types of blindboxes ; keychains and figurine types! Their in-house designs were also quite cute. I chanced upon many small shops along Xi Men Ding Shopping street as well, which had more variation and styles. 😊 Blind box paradise ~

- 基隆金證N : can't find on google maps but located near the H&M entrance, right next to the fried chicken store.

TLDR //

- A tier shops: Great vibes and things I would actually buy (and did buy)

- B tier shops: Great vibes but did not find anything I liked (you may find something suitable for you though!)

- C tier: Stuff you can find in SG. Wufenpu may have some hidden gems at affordable prices but you really REALLY gotta hunt.

All the best for your shopping adventures , hope everyone goes home with a great haul 😉🤩
