🤑 cheap & good kbbq: BBQ FRIEND 🍗🤤

WALK. DON’T RUN! This is my latest go-to kbbq place and yes, it’s affordable and hella good ‼️ To all my North-East babies, this one is a hidden gem in the area.

Here’s my honest review of the food and service at BBQ FRIEND 🫶🏼

What we ordered:

1️⃣ BBQ Set B ($69)

- This platter comes with LA beef short ribs, marinated pork collar and thin sliced pork belly! 🤤 There’s also vegetables and mushrooms served alongside the platter. Every set comes with soy bean paste soup as well as a steamed egg. Tbh I think this set is SO WORTH. The soup was really thick and rich, and they were so generous with the portion of ingredients inside as well. There are 2 other sets to choose from, so just pick which meats you wanna try the most 😇

2️⃣ Ddeokbokki ($16)

- Wow, this was just wow. I haven’t found a place that served up authentic korean rice cakes and this place did exactly that. This ddeokbokki SLAPPED. It was so thick and rich, unlike some places where it’s really watery. It’s quite spicy, so just be careful if you can’t handle spice too well! I normally can’t take spicy food… but this was so hard to resist. It was so yummy 🤩🤩🤩

3️⃣ Yangnyam Fried Chicken ($21)

- I am a fan of Korean fried chicken so I had to give this a go. The portion was so big and we only ordered the 8 pcs (half chicken)! You can choose either spicy or soy, but this yangnyam is their unique flavour - 70% sweet and 30% spicy! It was just nice for me, and I really wanted MORE 🍗🥳

‼️ All meals come with authentic banchan and i really loved the kimchi they served! It was so fresh and rich in flavour as well. Best part…? It’s refillable and their really friendly and kind about it! One of the waiters even brought a whole bowl of kimchi to help us barbecue alongside the meats!!! And yea, that slapped too 🤤🫶🏼🤘

Overall, it’s definitely a MUST visit! It’s a small tiny shop hidden at a corner, but it’s really such an authentic place serving up some of the best kbbq I’ve eaten in SG. The place is quite small, so I’d recommend calling to reserve a seat if you’re going in a big group! 🥳 Remember to save and like this post so you know where to go the next time you’re craving some barbecued meat!
