a steal: thrifted a vintage Carhartt jacket < $90

I’ve always wanted a Carhartt jacket just because I dig the construction WIP look!! I’ve been searching high and low to find a good one at a reasonable price - but sadly, they’re all at least a few hundreds of dollars. Which was why when I found this second-hand Carhartt jacket, it was a no brained for me. It was like love at first sight and I immediately knew I had to cop it. 😫😍🫶🏼

What I love about it 🤩

- I love love love that it’s extra oversized on me. It’s really such a vibe!!! This jacket is the canvas detroit Carhartt jacket, so it’s really SUPER durable. Another thing I LOVE about this new outerwear is the colour. I can’t even begin to describe how much I love this shade of army green-ish!!! It’s such a cute colour and I can already imagine all the clothes I’d pair with this jacket. It’s such a versatile colour, and super unique as well.

Downside of it 🥲

- The material is excellent, but not gonna lie, it’s quite thick for Singapore’s weather. On that note, it’s also really heavy because the material is so chunky.

BUT AS THE SAYING GOES, sweat is temporary, drip is forever ♾ 😫🤘

How to pair it ‼️

- There’s many ways you can pair this jacket. How I did it was to wear a thin inner crop top (so it’s not too hot for me) and to throw the oversized jacket over. I like to unzip it to show a little bit of my inner piece, as well as to have that droopy over the shoulder type of style!! 😉 I also went with a vintage patterned skirt that was passed down to me from my mum. I just felt like the oversized look went really well with the skirt, and the patterns definitely spiced up the look as a whole. For my shoes, I just threw on a pair of blue-grey high cut converse to finish off the look 🥳

Will I recommend this jacket?

- OF COURSE. It might seem impractical to have such a jacket, but trust me - on rainy days, you won’t regret it. It keeps you warm! And also, if you’re ever in NLB … or travelling to somewhere cold, this will be a good addition to your wardrobe ✨✨✨
