stumbled across Kawabun NYC | Midtown / Murray Hill / New Japanese Restaurant & Bar in Murray Hill - a hidden gem that you should NOT miss! the original location in Nagoya, Japan dates back to the first half of the 17th century (so they know what theyre doing!). They also have an amazing happy hour from 5-7. Here's what we got & our ratings:

- SPICY TUNA CRISPY RICE ($19 or $15 for HH) - 4 pieces of crispy sushi rice topped ground spicy tuna and scallion: 9/10

- LOBSTER TEMPURA ($30) - Fresh Maine lobster, bubu arare, spicy mayo, chili threads: 10/10

- WAGYU HOBAYAKI ($45) - Sliced A5 wagyu steak with mugi miso sauce grilled with hoba magnolia leaf and served on hot stone: 8/10

- SHRIMP SANDO ($21 or $15 for HH) - Shrimp, cabbage, mustard, milk bread: 9/10

- GINDARA SAIKYO YAKI ($32) - Grilled black cod marinated in saikyo miso: 10/10

- TRUFFLE WAGYU GYOZA ($25) - House made wagyu gyoza with truffle ponzu: 9/10

- SASHIMI PLATTER ($43) - Three kinds of fresh sashimi: 7/10

- TARABAGANI ($22) - King crab meat, crab miso sauce: 8/10
