(Honest) Review of the highly raved Pasta Bar

Went to Pasta Bar @ Keong Saik after seeing it all over my social media. Here’s my honest take on the place 🥵

The restaurant was cozy and I liked the furnishing, gave off some italian vibes 🇮🇹 However, the space was very small and it did feel a little cramped. It was an open bar concept which I enjoyed (being able to see the chefs being chefs 👨‍🍳), but due to the small space it felt a little warm.

My friend arrived at the place before me and she felt like she was being pressured to order the food. The staff emphasized on the 2h dining period which made the dining experience a little stressful.

Here’s what we got:

1. Truffle Fettucine ($46)

$46 FOR PASTA?!?! it has to be really amazing right… well, it was decent and the amount of truffle we got for the plate was really generous. However,

the taste of truffle was not distinct to me.. Just tasted like mushroom carbonara imo, nothing too special

2. Garganelli Cacio e Pepe ($29)

This was pretty good, with some smoked meat (I’m not sure what meat I was eating though) in the dish.

I enjoyed the saltiness of the meat mixed with a creamy sauce. The texture of the pasta was chewy which I loved.

Overall, I felt that Pasta Bar was good but WAY

too overpriced. Portion was also quite small given the price. It was a good experience dining there, nice ambience, but I doubt I would return.
