With the ease of covid restrictions, we can once again gather in big groups and what better way to celebrate than with a bbq with your closest friends🎉 However, organizing a bbq can be quite a hassle as you have to make trips to the grocery store to buy your ingredients and spend hours marinating food. That’s where Hungry BBQ comes into the picture. Ranging from marinated meats to fire starters, Hungry BBQ is your one stop shop for all your bbq needs. Neither you or your friends have any experience in cooking or are just too lazy to man the grill? You can even rent a bbq wingman to do all your cooking as you sit back and enjoy the food. The website offers several packages for different types of occasions and group sizes but we opted for ala carte. Here’s what we ordered:

Traditional Hand-made Raw Chucky Ribeye Beef Satay with Satay Sauce (30 sticks)

The meat was tender and had a good flavour that complemented well with the fragrant satay sauce. The only problem I had was that the sticks they used were not of the best quality and would quickly be burnt while we were grilling the satay which led to broken satay sticks which made it a little difficult to eat.

Signature Marinade 3-joint Chicken Wings (1kg, 9-10 pcs)

The chicken was well marinated and juicy. It was also not spicy so it’s a great kid-friendly option or for those who can’t handle spice too well.

Korean Style BBQ Chicken (Dak Gogi) (500g, 5-8 pcs)

It was very well seasoned and juicy 🤩 The sauce they marinate the chicken in was both sweet and savoury and had abit of spice in it but I still think this is a great child friendly option as the heat was very mild.

Herb Lemon Butter Dory Fillet (5 mini foil packets, 500g)

The fish was disappointing 😕 as it mainly just tasted like melted butter although the fish itself tasted fresh and tender. We decided to add our own seasoning which made it alot better. If you decide to order fish, I’d recommend getting the sambal as that would be more flavourful.

Premium Rosemary Lamb Sausage (6pcs, 300g)

I thoroughly enjoyed these, the rosemary mixed really well with the lamb and sausage itself had a nice bite to it. Pair it with your favourite chilli/bbq sauce and you have the perfect combo.

Wrapped Turkey Bacon with Enoki Mushroom (8 Skewers)

We were all really looking forward to this the most out of all the things we ordered but unfortunately it was just not it. The turkey bacon used looked very processed and tasted cheap and chewy 😔. The price ($12.80 before gst) was also quite steep considering it was only 8 pieces.

Fried Mini Samosas (20 pcs)

They were not the best tasting samosas but they did help fill our stomachs while we waited for the raw meats to be cooked.

Equipment wise, I recommend you guys to get your own charcoal and fire starters from other stores as theirs are a bit more expensive. Delivery was about $18 but you can always opt for self collection at their location in Aljunied. Overall, I do recommend Hungry BBQ as it makes things more convenient and less stressful for us.
