•Pioneertown Motel: our favorite part of our trip was our stay here. the rooms are western-themed without being too kitschy, and it’s perfectly situated to enjoy Pioneertown. Would go back in a heartbeat!

DO

•Joshua Tree National Park: the reason you’re in the area! Recommend stopping at hidden valley, keys view, barker dam, ryan mountain (2 mile hike), skull rock, and arch rock

• Shop around downtown Joshua Tree: stop at one of the many antique stores or western boutiques in the area

•Pappy + Harriet's: a honky tonk music venue in Pioneertown that you must visit. They also serve bbq, so recommend grabbing tickets for whoever's playing and making a reservation for a dinner 2 hours before showtime

EAT

• La Copine : the absolute best food in the area. Make a reservation in advance, go for lunch, and order whatever your waiter/waitress recommends

•The Red Dog Saloon: a quaint and no-frills taco and beer spot in Pioneertown. Surprisingly good
