WE SPEND $270 on Japan transport 🚫JR PASS 😩😩💸💸

To be exact, I spend 💸$269.20 in total on Transport. Including taking the limited express from Osaka -> Kyoto and the Shinkansen aka the bullet train from Kyoto -> Tokyo which are the longer cities transfers.

Without those 2 tickets, I spend 💸$114.30 on metros and busses throughout the 11 days I was in Japan. Now this is why everyone said to wear comfortable shoes because you'll be walking a lot. And WE DID, even with walking, we had to take the busses and metros whenever necessary and this the total we burned just for anyone who needs a gauge!

Now if you see, we didn't get the JR PASS like what EVERYONE is advising you to because it is NOT WORTH if you are only traveling from Osaka -> Tokyo one way. Only if you are traveling to and fro from 2 cities that are far apart, then maybe it is worth. Just go on their site to calculate your journey to see if its worth. One thing to note is that we took MANY local trains that are not a part of the JR line hence not covered by JR Pass. This was one of the main reasons why we didn't get the JR PASS too since ultimately we still had to pay for the local trains.

⚠️TIP: If you are arriving in Osaka, get the single ticket to your next destination which is usually Osaka Station and buy the ICOCA cards from the machine from ANY train station apart from the airport because the queue in the airport is really long!!! You should get the card as buying a single ticket ever single time you board the train is a tedious job + u will miss the trains if you're following gmaps timing.

Soooo, do your research properly before getting the JR Pass, it's defo not worth for us since we arrived in Osaka and was flying from Tokyo!!
