Life In Uni: Event Edition (What Did I Learn? 🤔)

Hi guyss! Today, I’d like to share a little bit on my uni life in terms of joining events!

Throughout uni, I was a pretty active student and I’ve joined several big uni events such as Career Fair, Convo Fest, Awards Night, Orientation Programmes and so many more! Along the way, I held different roles ranging from committee member, head of a division, secretary, programme director and ultimately, advisor of events!

So, what have I learnt from joining all these events in uni? 🤔

✅ Additional skills

When managing events, you will learn all types of skills such as time management, communication, event management, certain technical skills, etc. Now that I’ve graduated, I still find that these skills are super helpful in the working world!

✅ Increase in network

You’ll meet and work with different types of people such as other uni students, your uni management team and even external organizations. With this, you get the opportunity to network with like-minded individuals and expand your social circle. The connections you build during events may even help you in the future one day!

✅ Memories that last a lifetime

My favourite part of events are definitely the memories that I carry with me even after it is over. The friends you make: the laughter, stress, joy — these moments are unforgettable and trust me, you’ll miss your events and when you think about the memories, it’ll put an instant smile on your face! 🥰

Would I recommend you to join events in uni? A big YES! ✅✅✅
