This historic spot is not only adorable, but holds a lot of history and culture. The buildings resonated from a old farming community turned outpost, and eventually turned village. There are a lot of locally grown foods, locally owned restaurants, and shops infused with the culture of the area.

🌶️ 𝕊𝕒𝕟𝕕𝕚𝕒 ℙ𝕖𝕒𝕜:

Sandia stands for ‘watermelon’, and if you’re at the top of this peak at sunset will turn the sky a watermelon pink. The colors and breeze at the top is breathtaking. If you’re an experienced hiker you can hike to the top, but you can also take the Sandia Tram. There’s a restraint that overlooks the Peak. Be sure to get reservations for both the tram and the restaurant.

🌶️ 𝔹𝕒𝕝𝕝𝕠𝕠𝕟 𝔽𝕚𝕖𝕤𝕥𝕒:

If you happen to be there in October for their Balloon Fiesta, then you can see something magical. I highly recommend going on a mass ascension day! They release hundreds of hot air allows into the sky. Parking is scarce, but you can bus in at certain locations.
