#Susahnya nak skip masters and apply for PhD 😭😭

Did you know as a further study option, you can actually skip masters and go to PhD once you’ve finished your degree? 🤔🎓

This is actually true! 🤯 There are only several universities in Malaysia that offer this course, and to be safe, let’s look at the few public Malaysian universities that I’ve observed which have these options: Universiti Malaya, Universiti Sains Malaysia and Universiti Putra Malaysia. I believe all of these programs are MQA certified so it is recognised quality-wise. 💪💯

The catch is to apply, you must have a first class result from your degree. Then, you also need to write up a proposal for your application because a PhD is going to be fully research based unless you need or get assigned to classes.💻📝

Edit: To add on in this post, do email in to your potential supervisor to see if they are amicable to supervising you. If they are, it'll help increase your chances. However, it's not a surefire guarantee that you'll get in.

Different universities will grade your proposal in different manners however and I’m not entirely sure about the concept behind it. 😅😅 But, I understand that if you fail, you’ll fail your application completely, so it’s a high risk application as well because you won’t get anything out of it if you’re not up to par. 🥹 Also, just a heads up that you might need an interview as part of the application procedure as well. 🗣️

All in all, I got rejected from my first university application😭, and I am still waiting for the application period to open for the next so um, wish me luck haha!🙏✨ I hope this post helps anyone that is considering their further study options, and maybe this will bridge any knowledge gaps that you might have. 💪🔥
