I spent 7k in 2 months...

This is a post about the biggest financial mistake I have ever made in my entire life.😭😭

So, to cut things short, because I am starting my internship with no pay, my parents were kind enough to give me an allowance of 7k at the beginning of my internship. The thing was, I wasn’t really given a specification on how to use the money.😕 So, what I did was I set about RM 1k aside, and then used RM6k throughout the two months.

This was what I spent money on:

1) Food (Grabfood mostly haha) 💆

2) Travel (Also grab)😅

3) Purchases for work (Stationary, printing, gifts

etc.)💼

4) Clothing 👗

5) Misc 👜😅

So… I didn’t really set a budget for each, nor did I actually write down all my expenses. This contributed to a large problem in which I was using money without control and it has placed a financial burden onto myself and more importantly, my parents.😭😭😕

I actually feel so bad after what happened… 😭 And I keep beating myself up over this issue to be honest. Yknow… how could I spend money like there was no tomorrow? Or why didn’t I actually take more charge of my finances. My parents were kind enough to still give me an allowance, albeit they said that they were going to cut down the amount so I can control my spending. 😔

Moving forward into the year 2024… I hope to get my finances in control. 💪🔥 I’m also trying to make a transaction history list over my spending over the past two months so I know how to control my spending. 🔥
