Hi everyone, long time lurker here. Decided to drop my two cents for everybody here who is considering getting headphones. Disclaimer❗️I am an impulse buyer and was a first-time headphones user. Some things I've learnt over the course of these 3 months with my headphones might seem completely basic to those who've used headphones over the years, however, for a new user considering swapping to headphones. These tips might concern you.

1) There's some upkeep to it

When I first bought my headphones (Sennheiser momentum 4), my girlfriend was already well aware I wasn't prepared to even take care of them. If you plan to use it frequently, it rarely won't be in its case as it'll be too big to fit on short 10mins-1h errand runs as well as the case not fitting in most bags as it's quite big. You probably will need a Headphone stand or an area to place it on. There's also Singaporean weather (Southeast Asian things) that really gets sweat into those ear muffs so you'd best buy a leather repair, leather wax, or leather conditioner to really make Headphones last long.

2)Headphones aren't for everybody.

I found that me personally my head was quite too big to fit most Headphone shapes. It was quite cool walking around with headphones on my head (Specifically, shout out to sennheiser for having an awesome sleek looking design that really goes with most outfits and looks damn premium) HOWEVER the downsides were asinine. The ANC mode on headphones really work differently from earbuds. The air pressure gave me serious migraines combined with always being nauseous on bus rides. Finally, it was awkward when I had to find a place to keep it. Not bringing the case out as its normally too big means keeping it around my neck, less I stuff it down into my bag and let it potentially get damaged. Keeping the headphones around my neck was horrible as my neck is simply too thick.

All in all I just wanted to document my journey with Headphones. This is no hate to the specific headphones I bought. Sound quality was exceptional and ANC was really good.

TLDR

Watch for how portable your headphones might be

Headphones require maintenance

Head shape, Spectacles and weather need to all be taken into consideration.

Tell me what you think about your headphones. Did you get another brand of headphones that dealt with the issues I faced? comment below.
