Colombia travel & what you should know🇨🇴

The first time I went to Colombia, I missed my flight back to the states several times.

So classically, I stayed for another month with my bf at the time.

After we broke up, I’ve continued to travel every year back to Colombia.

This is what I would recommend for first timers.

1. Personally I’m not a solo female traveler, I always have a buddy, or at LEAST have been to the city multiple times so I’m familiar with where I am at. If you’ve never been to Medellin, or don’t speak Spanish I wouldn’t recommended solo, although I do walk around by myself OFTEN and have never once felt unsafe.

2. Know some Spanish. At least to save your butt on the street. Pre download google translate offline for Spanish.

3. Carry some cash if you plan to buy from street vendors.

4. Tour guides if you want to go to Comuna 13

5. Plan your days at a coffee place maybe in Poblado or Laureles in the morning to get some good breakfast and experience Colombian coffee.
