My Golden Doodle has been an Emotional Lifesaver ❤

This is the story of how I found my new best friend - Malibu! @Lemon8 Pets 2023 started off really rough for me - so rough I got depressed and almost gave up on life. In May I had just started antidepressants but was still feeling a little shaky emotionally and empty.

🐾 One morning as I was scrolling through my Facebook feed I saw this cute golden doodle puppy for sale. This puppy was supposed to have gone home with another family but that fell through and now he was looking for his forever home. Something about his chocolate brown eyes tugged at my heart and I reached put to the breeder. He was still available! So I got him.

🐾 I wasn't sure if this was the right time for a puppy, or if I was ready for the commitment of having a pet. But I wanted to feel happy again and have something to focus on. So I spent the week leading up to picking up my puppy researching his breed, watching videos and getting my apartment ready for him.

🐾 I picked up my new fur baby on May 11, 2023. The minute I saw him I knew I made the right choice. He had a very sweet and calm energy about him. Malibu and I bonded immediately & suddenly life just seemed so much fuller.

🐾 My sweet boy is now 7 months and he has changed my life for the better. As a Golden Doodle he is a velcro dog and follows me wherever I go. After everything I've been through - Malibu has given me everything I need to feel better. I feel seen and loved, I have a buddy to cuddle with or sit with me when I watch TV or read. I never feel alone. I'm more active and get lots of sunshine while taking Malibu out on walks or to the dog parks. Most importantly I have someone that loves me and looks forward to seeing me everytime I come. It's the best.

Being a dog mom has definitely been an adjustment, but all the frustration and puppy messes have been worth having this soul in my life. Fun fact - Malibu & I's birthdays are a day apart! We were just meant to be.
