5. Honey or agave

Instructions

Step 1: Make the Flaxseed Gel

1. Boil Water: In a pot, bring 14.69 oz (approximately 416.79 g) of water to a boil.

2. Add Ground Flaxseed: Stir in 2.56 oz (72.74 g) of ground flaxseed and reduce the heat to a simmer.

3. Simmer: Allow the mixture to simmer for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens to a gel-like consistency.

4. Strain: Once thickened, remove from heat and strain through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a bowl, discarding the seeds. Let the gel cool.

Step 2: the Deep Conditioner

5. Melt Oils: In a double boiler or microwave, gently melt 5.76 oz (163.30 g) of shea butter and 5.76 oz (163.30 g) of coconut oil until fully melted. Let it cool slightly.

6. Mix: In a mixing bowl, combine the cooled flaxseed gel with the melted oils. Add 1.92 oz (54.43 g) of Vitamin E oil and 1.28 oz (36.25 g) of honey (if using). Mix well until smooth.

Step 3: Store and Use

7. Transfer: Pour the deep conditioner into a clean, airtight container.

8. Refrigerate: Store in the refrigerator for up to 1-2 weeks. Always check for freshness before use.

* Apply the deep conditioner to clean, damp hair, focusing on the ends.

* Leave it on for 20-30 minutes, then rinse thoroughly for best results.

1. Flax Seed Gel (40% - 4.8 oz)

- To make flax seed gel, combine 1/4 cup of flax seeds with 2 cups of water. Boil for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally until it thickens. Strain out the seeds and let the gel cool.

2. Carrier Oil (30% - 3.6 oz)

- Options include:

- Coconut oil

- Olive oil

- Argan oil

- Avocado oil

- Jojoba oil

3. Conditioning Agent (20% - 2.4 oz)

- Options include:

- Honey (natural humectant)

- Greek yogurt (for moisture and protein)

- Aloe vera gel (if you'd like to use it in conjunction with the flax seed gel)

4. Essential Oil(optional, 5% - 0.6 oz)

- Options :

- Lavender (for a soothing scent)

- Peppermint (for a refreshing effect)

- Rosemary (for hair growth stimulation)

5. Vitamin E Oil (optional, 5% - 0.6 oz)

- Acts as a preservative and offers extra moisture.

- Flax Seed Gel: 40% (4.8 oz)

- Avocado Oil: 30% (3.6 oz)

- Honey : 20% (2.4 oz)

- Lavender Essential Oil: 5% (0.6 oz)

- Vitamin E Oil: 5% (0.6 oz)

Directions:

1. Prepare Flax Seed Gel:

- In a saucepan, combine 1/4 cup of flax seeds with 2 cups of water.

- Boil for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Once it becomes thick, strain the mixture using a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth to separate the gel from the seeds. Let it cool.

2. Combine Ingredients:

- In a mixing bowl, combine the flax seed gel, your chosen carrier oil example :avocado oil), and conditioning agent (honey or Greek yogurt).

3. Add Essential Oils & Vitamin E

- If you're using essential oils and/or vitamin E oil, add them to the mixture and stir well.

4.❣️ Blend (optional)❣️

- For a smoother consistency, consider blending the mixture using a blender or immersion blender.

5. 🧡HOW TO APPLY 🧡

- Apply the mask to clean, damp hair, focusing on the scalp and the ends.

- Use a wide-tooth comb to distribute the mask evenly.

- Cover your hair with a shower cap for better absorption and to retain moisture.

- Leave the mask on for 30 minutes to 1 hour, then rinse thoroughly and follow with your usual shampoo and conditioner.

🧡LEFTOVERS 🧡

Store any leftover mask in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week. The flax seed gel may develop a rancid smell over time, so it's best to use it promptly.
