navigating a male dominated industry 💅🏻

tech has been long associated with male dominance, where women have to break barriers to achieve success. 👩🏻‍💻 my office consists of mostly males (more than 70%)

in recent years, there has been a shift toward inclusivity and diversity, which sheds light on experiences of #womenintech where we challenge stereotypes.

i have found my way to feel included and excel in my role despite being the minority gender in the office, and i would like to share it with you girls 🫶

1️⃣ Challenge the Status Quo

look at what everyone does NOT want to do, and then do it and excel in it. by doing so, you are someone people will seek when they need help with THAT item! contribute wherever and whenever you can, to prove your competence and inspire others to follow suit. believe in your skills, knowledge, and potential. you are a trailblazer, paving the way for future generations of women in tech 🔥

2️⃣ Continual Learning and Skill Development

in this fast-paced industry, it is important to stay up to date with the latest trends and acquire new skills by taking online courses/certifications. you can also join conferences to broaden your knowledge base and network with others. 📖

complete one challenge and win a free microsoft certification exam 📝 (till June 20, 2023) if you can't finish this time round, they have this often! i took it before 😅

3️⃣ Promote Inclusivity

as a woman in the tech industry, i believe we can be the catalyst for change, encouraging diversity and inclusivity with our male and female colleagues. if you have not realised it yet, i have been promoting tech content, and i'm working to help others navigate their careers ❤️ feel free to reach out to me if you need any help - be it advice in your career, or even if it's just a programming question.
