Disneyland fireworks photoshoots are a thing 🎆

Yes, fireworks photoshoots are a thing in Shanghai Disneyland! Lots of photographers do it, however it does cost quite a bit more due to the complexity of it, especially when compared to the actual duration of the shoot. You'll need lighting, good weather, good luck (so that there is less people in the background), and you need very precise timing.

There are 2 fireworks displays here, one at 8 and one at 9 I believe. You can choose either, but I recommend doing the shoot at the 2nd fireworks show as there's significantly much less people! For some reason, everybody prefers the first show HAHA.

The photographer led me to a spot at the corner of the castle, there's still some people walking around even during the show but it's okay since they can always be edited out 🤭 Unfortunately for me, it was raining during the show so the shoot was affected. It was alternating between a light drizzle and a heavy downpour every 5 mins, so it was really frustrating since I can only take the photos when it was a light drizzle.

If you think the cost is rather pricey, there's another option - photoshopped fireworks! Certain photographers can do an actual fireworks shoot, or a photoshopped one. If you opt for the photoshopped one, you can do your shoot anytime it turns dark and the castle is lit. The good thing is that it means you don't have to miss the fireworks show especially if you don't want to leave the park so late! Best of both worlds 🤭

Overall I highly recommend it, but if I do it again I'll probably opt for the photoshopped one next time HAHA 🥲 no more standing in the rain thank youuuu
