Vinyl-Listening at Slow Boat 🛥️

My husband and I fell deeply and irrevocably in love with vinyl listening while we were in Korea after chancing upon the vinyl + music store in a store around Hannam-dong. The experience remained embedded so vividly in our minds - the thrill of picking out the albums we loved from the racks, the inexplicable grandeur of watching the tracks whirl in rapid, circular motions around the plate, and then the scratchings of the needle echoing throughout a song. It left us speechless to say the least.

Not having the budget yet to get our vinyl player, Slow Boat provided us a cosy space to recreate the experience we had in Seoul. Albeit for a whopping $30/person, it was still an amazing experience. The music selection was not as wide, but sufficient. We were lucky enough to get our hands on Foals, Arctic Monkeys and Coldplay’s Parachutes!

Two sweating iced lattes accompanied us in our listening session that lasted an hour. It seemed so short. If not for the price, I’d totally extend the timing!
