DIY Movie Theater Popcorn At Home

𝚃𝚛𝚒𝚌𝚔𝚜 𝚏𝚘𝚛 𝙼𝚊𝚔𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝙿𝚘𝚙𝚌𝚘𝚛𝚗 𝚊𝚝 𝙷𝚘𝚖𝚎 are not talked about enough so I’m here to share my knowledge as a popcorn obsessed movie watcher. 🎥 🍿 Microwave popcorn has ingredients that aren’t great for us such as inflammatory oils so making your own popcorn is a healthier option.

You don’t need special equipment for popcorn like those stirring popcorn pots just a large pot you already have.

Step 1:

Simply add popcorn to a large pot (a lightweight pot). Start with no more than 1/4 Cup your first time to learn much popped corn your pot can hold. Generously coat popcorn with olive (at least 2X the amount in oil).

Step 2:

Set lid on the pan and the heat to medium. Wait until you hear popping.

Step 3:

Once the popcorn starts popping for 30 seconds shake the pan around every 20 seconds or so. Wrap oven mitts around the lid and pot and shake up and down and in a circle. This takes about 2-3 minutes.

Step 4:

After the popcorn is done popping where you barely hear kernels popping shut off the heat. Add butter or more oil and shake again, then season and shake again.

📒Notes:

1. Use mini grocery paper bags or ones made for popcorn. World Market sells fold out popcorn boxes.

2. Use finely ground salt and spices for seasoning.
