Hot Air Balloon in Turkey | All You Need to Know

Situated in central Turkey, Cappadocia is best known for its panoramic views featuring hundreds of hot air balloons flying up at once. ✨ Some things you should know before booking your next trip to this iconic spot:

1. It is not cheap: RIP our wallets because a 1.5 hour ride costs around USD250 per pax (SGD350). But the experience was worth every cent as it includes transport to and fro the departure area, logistics, pilot experience and the beautiful views.

2. Choose the right season: Summer will be the best time to visit as there’s higher chances of departing. Whether or not you get to depart depends on the weather and wind conditions. The pilot will only confirm the flight a day before and may even get cancelled last minute. So do keep your fingers crossed.

3. Yes, it is safe: These pilots undergo lots of training and balloons only depart if the weather is perfect and safe for flight. The basket is also pretty sturdy and high so it’s not so easy to fall out 🫣

The process was super smooth with no hiccups at all. Note that you have to wake up super early in the morning, depending on your accommodation location (we departed our hotel at 4am) so plan your itinerary the day before accordingly for a good night's rest.
