this taiwan tea house inspired spirited away! 🍵👻

if you’re in jiufen for a half/full day trip, visiting a-mei tea house should definitely be part of your itinerary. esp if you’re a studio ghilbi fan, this tea house is what inspired the iconic bathhouse in spirited away! 👻

while it might be a little bit difficult to locate as the tea house is situated off the main old street, it is definitely worth the find 😌

around 10mins away from the main bus stop 🚏, this three storey tea house offers stunning views that overlooks a beautiful scene with mountain and sea views 🗻🌊.

my bf and i sat at the third floor outdoor deck and were greeted with a lovely afternoon view at 4pm (ps, we stayed till 6.30pm aft the sun had set! they encouraged us to stay longer and weren’t rushing any guest so plus points for that! 👍🏻)

he had the $300NTD tea set (~$14SGD) which came with different traditional snacks assortment. i had an iced latte for $250NTD (~$11GD) and while slightly pricey, it came with a slice of cake so i was pleasantly surprised!

everything was really delicious and i highly recommend the tea set which is really what you are here for. the amt of tea leaves they give you is really generous too and let’s you have multiple brews 🫖 which you can do yourself. definitely a super fun and beautiful experience if you’re in jiufen 🌟
